CONSUMER WELFARE FUND - CALL FOR PROPOSAL
The Fund has been set up by the Department of Revenue and, is being operated by
the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Department of Consumer
Affairs.
OBJECTIVE
The overall objective of the Consumer Welfare Fund is to provide financial assistance
to promote and protect the welfare of the consumers and strengthen the consumer
movement in the country.
Call for Proposals
This call for proposals is made by the Department of Consumer Affairs inviting proposals
from agencies / organisations engaged in Consumer Welfare Activities and who meet
the eligibility criteria set out in Rule 97 of the Central Goods and Services Tax (Fourth Amendment) Rules, dated:18.04.2018  and Consumer Welfare Fund Guidelines

Applications will be received from eligible agencies / organisations from 26th August, 2019 to 10th October, 2019 till 11:59 PM. Only on-line applications will be considered.

(i) Demonstration of testing of products for presence of substances causing health hazards and Simple methods to detect adulteration in food products.
(ii) Creating Awareness about Counterfeit products and services and identification of spurious/ fakes products using technological tools.
(iii) Education of consumers/ Consumer awareness programmes on issues such as MRP, grievance redressal, unfair trade practices etc. through Melas, Development of IEC material distribution, public addressing system, Nukkad Nataks, puppet/ magic shows, video clippings, social media, etc.
(iv) Competitions (poster making, painting, quiz, debate, essay writing) and award of prize and outreach through community engagement including social media initiatives.
(v) Literacy through Safety measures to be followed in financial transactions, terms and conditions given in insurance policies, mutual funds, etc. and usage of credit/ debit cards, e-commerce, etc.
